There are so many amazing ways to implement the high vibrations and good frequencies of rocks, minerals and crystals into your daily life, but have you ever tried tumbled stones? These coin sized healers show that good things really do come in small packages.

They originally start off as regular crystals, rocks or minerals, with raw edges and unique shapes. They are then put through a “tumbler” which smoothes out the edges until they’re soft and polished. While the benefits of these stones are the same as unpolished crystals, rocks and minerals (i.e. clearing your mind, rebalancing, strengthening energy, etc.) it truly comes down to personal preference. Some people like the jagged edges of raw crystalline structure while others prefer the soothing, cool sensations of tumbled stones.

How to choose your stones:

Take a deep breath and pick the one you’re most drawn to. This lets you get the one you really need rather than the one you think you need. The universe works in mysterious ways, so trust us when we tell you you’ll get the right one! That’s not to say if you need help in certain areas not to look up which stone is best for you. Check out our Crystals section for info on different types of crystals and how they can best serve you.

How we love to use our tumbled stones:

  • In Pockets: keeping these little guys in your front pockets activates your Sacral Chakra where you can find your creative and pleasure energy and Root Chakra which keeps you grounded
  • Home/ Office: spreading them around your home and office adds a beautiful pop of colour to any room and surrounds the environment with the benefits of each stone
  • Plants: add a little or a lot of tumbled stones on the top of the dirt in your plants to add a unique twist to your pot
  • Body Layout: lay flat on with your stones placed on the areas of your body you need the most healing for a few moments and feel the difference in your every move
  • Meditation: holding one or multiple in your hands during your practice helps clear your mind and let’s you focus
  • Jewelry: Find beautiful statement pieces with perks such as a tumbled stone necklace that you can switch up the crystal whenever you need a new energy change.

Here’s a few places you can order them from:

While the promise of spring is just around the corner, it can be hard to align ourselves with ideas of sunshine and warmth as winter seems content to have us remain in its hold a little while longer. If you are like most, the dreary days added up can do a number on your feelings of ambition, alignment and connectivity to Source and your inner voice. Creativity may feel dulled, energy low and your fire may need a little spark.

With Aries season afoot, it’s an excellent time to re-ignite the fire within and activate your sacral chakra, your creativity, passion and lust for life. Here are some amazing methods and tools to activate your sacral chakra, shake off winter and re-ignite your inner force.

The Activity – Box n’ Burn

As dedicated as we are to finding alignment through yoga, sometimes forcing stagnant energy out of you with high intensity activity can be a welcome change to yoga’s flowing and coaxing method. Activities such as boxing style fitness classes, spin classes and even a visit to a studios like Barry’s can awaken your body and inner being from its winter slumber and get you pumped up for life.

At the moment, we’re loving Drop Boxing – a new boxing fitness studio opened on Spadina in Toronto. With motivational quotes embedded tastefully in the decor, you can feel yourself start to motivate from within upon arrival. Once you’re in the Drop Room, your 50 minute class goes by in a flash of fire, music and pleasurable muscle burn. You’ll leave feeling accomplished, strong and excited to come back.

The Stone – Tiger’s Eye

We’ve talked before about how Citrine is an amazing stone for activating and connecting with your sacral chakra. When our sacral chakra’s are suppressed, it is difficult to access our passion, our joy, our creativity, our ability to manifest abundance and even our connection to our sexual selves. Another stone to connect with when you need a fiery boost is Tiger’s Eye. This stone is said to give the boundless energies and unwavering focus of the tiger. Meditating with Tiger’s Eye placed close to your sacral chakra can work to activate your inner fire as well as impart needed waves of self-compassion. As the winter has been harsh on our earth, so we too can be on ourselves when we are feeling tired and dull. Accessing the bright and warm energies of the Tiger’s Eye is an excellent way to step into the next phase of your journey.

A Simple Guide to the 7 Chakras Blog Image

There are seven chakras in the body that act as our energy centres. In addition to contributing to our emotions, the energy that flows through our chakras can relate to our feelings of physical wellbeing.  You may notice that when you have a sore back, it has a direct effect on your emotions and how you are responding in the world. It works the other way around as well. When we are tense, depressed, stressed or angry, the effects can often be revealed physically too, via sore backs and headaches.

When our chakras are blocked, we are unable to release stale energy from the body, which causes stress in various aspects of our lives. Practices like Yoga and Reiki are fantastic for releasing stale energy.

Below is a very high-level overview of the seven chakras for the beginner.

1. Root Chakra

Located at the base of the spine, the root chakra connects our energy to the Earth and works towards keeping us feeling grounded. The Root Chakra is directly connected to our energies and focus on day-to-day survival. Therefore this is the chakra that is connected to our feelings around financial matters, emotional security, food and shelter.

2.  Sacral Chakra

Located in the lower abdomen, about two inches below the navel and extends into your centre, the Sacral Chakra is where our pleasure and creative energy lives. When our Sacral Chakra is balanced, we are open to experience the joys of life and to embrace the fruits of our labour. We welcome a sense of abundance and well-being. We are open to indulging in pleasurable activities like sex.

3. Solar Plexus Chakra

The Solar Plexus Chakra is found in our upper abdomen, in the stomach. When people say “I felt it in my gut” they are speaking to the Solar Plexus Chakra, which is connected to our feelings of self-worth, confidence and self-esteem. This is the key to your personal power and ability to move forward with feelings of control.

4. Heart Chakra

The Chakra where our love, compassion and kindness lives is not surprisingly located at the centre of the chest, just above the heart. The Heart Chakra is where we find our love energies for others, but also for ourselves. The Heart Chakra is associated is also connected to our health and our ability to heal.

5. Throat Chakra

Located at the throat, this chakra is connected to our ability to communicate and speak our personal truth. The Throat Chakra invites us to ask ourselves, where does our personal truth come from? What gives energy to our truth and how do we communicate it? The Throat Chakra is where our power of self-expression lives.

6. Third Eye Chakra

Found on the forehead, between the eyes, the Third Eye Chakra is we find the energy to open our minds to information that lives beyond the physical and material world and outside our 5 senses. This is where our intuition lives, as well as our psychic energy and extra sensory perception. This is also where we access the magic of our imaginations while honing in on our focus surrounding the big picture.

7. Crown Chakra

The Crown Chakra is our purest place of personal consciousness and our highest point of spiritual connection. Located at the top of the head, this is where we source our energy to achieve our purest bliss and joy as well as tap into both our inner and outer beauty. Our energy of consciousness connects us to the universe.
