Full Moon: April 19th-21st

Keywords: Balance, finding value in self and relationships, self-worth, shifting, next steps, ego release, back to centre

March’s full moon in Libra invited us to step through a new open energy portal that is finding its close with this full moon in April, which is also in Libra. In March, you may have felt a powerful shift start to occur in and around you. Doubts heightened, stresses emphasized and the ever existential questioning of “what does this all mean?” came into play. What are we doing with our lives? Is the path I am currently on the one I am meant to walk for the rest of my days? Am I resigned to this office, this house, this relationship forever?

The Answer Is Hard To Except

This past month or so so, we have been coming face to face with answers that we may or may not have wanted to confront. The reason is that change is hard. The unknown is worrisome. You may no longer be finding fulfillment in your current situation, but facing that as an actual reality is frightening. If I am not this person in this situation, then who am I at all?

You Are Value and Worthiness Manifested

Who you are is your inner being, who watches the world pass, without any opinions or fears or worries or concerns.Your inner being is your centre point, your equilibrium, that to which we must return frequently. This full moon we are called to come back to our centre, find our point of beginning and our point of end and prepare to move forward a new. Where do your present fears of change stem from? Often when we frightened of changes that we are called to, it is because of egotistic matters. For example, if you were to leave your high profile and respectable job to pursue a career in dog walking, what would others think? And how would your finances take a blow? Would you need to find a smaller apartment? What will your parents and friends think of that? And speaking of my friends, there are a few I could do without, but I can’t stop going out with this group of people because who would make new friends with me at my age? How do people my age even make new friends?

Enough With The Ego
We all have questions like this, but it is simply our egos trying to win a war with our inner being, and this war is one sided.Your inner being is there. The core of who you are is there and you already know the answers. The answer is you will be ok. So let go of the ego and get ready to close the portal door. Thank it for the shifts and emotions and new ideas it brought you this month. Come to centre and under this full moon, get ready to move ahead.

New Moon: April 5th

Key Words: Surrender, Alignment, Manifesting, Soul Journey, Resist the Ego, Highest Truth, Opportunity, Evolve, Grow and Let Go

One of the most difficult parts of any life journey is working hard towards something we think we want, only to be shown later in some capacity that it’s actually not what we want at all. Don’t be surprised during April’s moon cycle if you hit a wall with a project or life choice you have been working diligently on. In fact, don’t be surprised if you realize suddenly that what you think has been your life’s work turns out that it has only been a stepping stone to the next phase in your soul’s journey.

Yikes! Sounds terrifying, right? Change always is, especially when it comes suddenly. This new moon in Aries marks the midway point of a fiercely telling energy portal that was triggered by the March Super Moon and that will close during April’s full moon. This strong energy will rain clarity on situations that may have been leaving murky question marks throughout your life.

Face-To-Face with The Ego

Many of our life’s choices are ego-driven, when we sit down and think about them. What have you been prioritizing in your life the past few years? Are you able to identify which part of you has been driving you to put energy into these areas? Is it your ego or is it what your soul has truly desired? Remember, we change and we change frequently, so don’t be afraid if suddenly something that has mattered so much to you in the past few years doesn’t seem to matter much at all any more.

This new moon asks us to go dark with it and retreat back into our souls. Connect with your inner being and work to shut down the ego, the fears and the old belief patterns that tell us what a successful life needs to look like. You are not here on this earth simply to show people from your high school that your life is good because it looks like it on Instagram. You are here because your soul wanted to incarnate itself within your body for a journey and a purpose beyond explanation.

But Success Is Good Too, No?

Of course! Along with the seriousness of this new moon, there is great potential for rewarding opportunity afoot! After a harsh winter, we are ready to embrace the abundance of spring, both in season and in life. If you have been putting in the work this winter, expect opportunity to shine down upon you. There is amazing potential for success in both business and in relationships. Note that we may be prone to discouragement this new moon, in spite of the wealth of exciting opportunity before us. Remember to ground yourself when you feel slightly overwhelmed and ask yourself if your fears and insecurities are truly valid or if your ego is simply running amok?

Let Go and Get Aligned

In short, this new moon invites us to let go. If something isn’t making you happy, even if it has been the centre of your world for the past decade like a relationship or a home or a job, then let it go. Let it GO! Embrace freedom. Do what you need to do to find alignment and reignite your fire.

Super Wolf Blood Moon: January 20th

Key Words: Change, Opportunity, Attention, Creativity, Unexpected Events, Confidence, Frustration, Drama

Change is on the horizon. You may have been feeling slight shifts lately as we softly eased into the new year. Things that appeared a bit murky in December are slowly starting to become clear, even if you don’t really want to acknowledge the truth. This Super Wolf Blood Moon may throw us a few curve balls, but could also bless us with opportunity.

This Sunday evening, around 10:36 EST, the Earth will be positioned between the sun and the moon, causing a “blood red” shadow across the moon’s surface, hence the phrase “blood moon”. The January full moon is called the Wolf moon because in traditional and earlier times, this is the month when the wolves howled from winter hunger, particularly during the full moon. So again, the term sounds much more sinister than it really is.

Move Slowly, Softly

That said, we would do well to proceed with caution, and brace ourselves for unexpected change and resulting feelings of fear and anxiety. There will be shifts in power at play and you may notice them in your work or personal life. Observe closely the relationship dynamics in your life right now and how others around you are unknowingly being affected by this astronomical event. Do you see higher instances of tension, displays of anger, flashes of temper and frustration? Are people overstepping their mark with you, through an unwarranted sense of power and position?

You may find that you are quick to temper yourself, or find that your typically grounded mind is getting caught up in anxiety-driven thoughts. This is not a full moon to broach relationship or work issues. Focus on getting yourself grounded in the present moment and peacefully observe how you can leverage the moon’s powerful energies to your advantage.

Creativity and Opportunity

This eclipse brings with it energies of opportunity. 2018 was a year of inner ground work for profound change, essentially setting the stage for your debut. The time has come for you to step out of the shadows and fully embrace this new expression of who you are and who you want to be. We will be gifted bursts of creativity, energy and focus with this powerful celestial happening and those of us who are wise will use it to our advantage. Listen to your inner being as it will be forthcoming with information on what you truly want, as well as provide insightful guidance on creative ways to go and get it. Don’t shy away from recognition and spotlight over the next few days. Lean into the shifts and changes happening around you and embrace opportunities as they come your way. It’s time to satiate the hungry wolf inside you and get what you want and what you deserve.

Keep Cool

This shouldn’t be hard as temperatures continue to plummet. Remember we may encounter anxiety-driven situations such as technology that refuses to cooperate, or work/personal relationship upheavals. Knowing that we may be prone to hot tempers gives us the power of mindfulness when we structure our reactions. Face challenges with a level head. Things are never as bad as they seem. And nothing is bad enough to defeat you and your beautiful spirit. Set intentions of joy and you’ll come through this Super Wolf Blood Moon with money in the bank.

Moon Cycle: November 7th – December 5th

Full Moon: November 22nd

Keywords: Forgiveness, Transformation, Healing, Empathy, Spiritual Closeness, Manifestation, Compassion

The past moon cycle may have left you feeling slightly exposed and raw in the heart. Emotions were coursing through our spirits this past month, with Venus Retrograde still rampant and the full moon in Taurus unleashing our ego. It is entirely possible that we may have had our backs up, and tensions flared in our closest relationships, including our relationship with self. If you felt slightly out of alignment these past few weeks and had trouble finding your centre, rest assured that the new moon in Scorpio brings with it a compassionate energy that will bring relief and healing to the wounds we allowed to come to the surface this past moon.

Forgive Others, Forgive Yourself

One of the major ways we can embrace healing is through the act of forgiveness. What tensions were stirred within our closest relationships this past moon? Most importantly, what occurred during the past month that may have challenged our relationship with self? This new moon in Scorpio brings with it a compassionate energy that we can leverage to soothe and nourish our raw wounds, allowing us to extend forgiveness to those who may have done us wrong, while also allowing forgiveness to heal our own relationship with self.

This new moon, it will be important to embrace our love of self, as well as conduct strong acts of self-care and self-love. If we can nourish our most valuable resources (our inner being and our bodies) we are rightly prepared for the positive and strong transformations that this new moon can bring.

Manifesting and Transformation

The new moon in Scorpio will be an opportune time to manifest the goals and dreams we have long had in heart. This moon cycle brings with it a strong energy of transformation, that we can leverage to our benefit, with love and grace. Make sure to strongly dictate your intentions this new moon, while evaluating in your life what it is you would like to transform. Ask yourself if you are ready to become a newer version of yourself, and if you are open to what this new role will mean for you. Further to, the manifestation energy of this new moon is strong, however, we may need to revert back to the theme of forgiveness before we are able to embrace our next level of abundance. Stay true to yourself and see where you need to extend forgiveness in your life, or where you need to ask for it. Be humble, and more forward once forgiveness is granted.

Compassion and Grace

Above all, this new moon is optimal for compassion and charity. You may find your empathy to be strong. Remember that there is nothing wrong with filling your own cup before tending to the needs of others. Put your goals, dreams and health first, then move on to care for those around you from a place of complete abundance.

Sunday's Full Moon In Pisces: It's Time to Clean Your Closet Blog Image

The full moon will be in Pisces this Sunday, and we’re so ready to hand ourselves over to this ever-dreamy but determined and driven sign. It is no surprise that some of us are feeling a little spun out and weak at the knees after this summer’s whirlwind of retrograde activity, eclipses and super moons and blood moons, oh my. This summer, the cosmos called us to reflect and face ourselves directly, to go deep inside and allow whatever comes up to be acknowledged and recognized. We were given support from the universe to let go of everything that doesn’t serve us, as well as insight (if we were listening) to determine what we truly want in life, what our goals are and what needs to be done to achieve them.

The new moon in Leo brought on August 11th brought us the courageous and fierce energy of the lion, guiding us in setting our new lunar cycle intentions with precision and confidence. You may have felt a bit like a live wire over the past week or so, ready to jump in defence of yourself, fiercely protective of your beliefs, your morals and what you believe is true and right.

We can thank the Lion for helping us set our intentions during the new moon phase with clarity and pure strength in vision, while recognizing a need to take a break from being overt with our ideals and positions. The universe has heard your roar and now it’s time to give into the softer side of the Pisces.

Full Moon in Pisces August 26th: Surrender

With the full moon in Pisces, we are called to surrender our need to know all the answers about the future and take things as they come, giving into our capacity for trust; trust in ourselves, trust in others and trust in the universe. We may find ourselves to be grappling with issues or conflicts around how our quest for spirituality can live in harmony with our need for material items. This is represented in the sign for Pisces; two fish tied together but swimming opposite directions. One fish represents our spiritual side, the other represents our material side. When we find a way to let our two sides compliment each other, we can navigate the waters of life with greater ease.

Although we are reminded to find balance between our two sides, Pisces is a dreamy sign and one that tends to connect with the more spiritual aspects of life. This is why during a full moon in Pisces, we are invited to leverage this ability and go deep, to find connectivity with ourselves and others, as well as the divine. If you are interested in astrology, tarot or meditation, this full moon is an excellent time to put your interests into action.

It’s Time to Clean Your Closet

That said, a full moon in Pisces can bring up our emotions in a less than productive way. Make sure that you are not avoiding reality, overstepping boundaries or giving into self-indulgent behaviours. While Pisces is dreamy and content to swim along in a sea of dreams and emotions, this full moon will be opposite the sun in practical Virgo, bringing clarity to the situation. The sun in Virgo will help us sift through these emotions that come up during the full moon in Pisces and put them to practical use. Think of her like a practical and wise mother or grandmother who knows what you need in your messy closet and knows what you don’t. She’ll help you eliminate the clutter; in work, in relationships and inside your own mind.

The sun in Virgo also will remind our Pisces selves to take care of the trivia, the minutiae at home, at work and for our bodies. This full moon, make sure that your temples are in order; your living space and your beautiful, serving body. Put aside a day to clean out your apartment and book that doctor’s appointment you have been putting off.

Why?

The full moon in Pisces is opening the pathway to our next chapter. Like for real, if you have been putting in the work, it will start to pay off and you can’t have extra baggage holding you back as you embark on this next exciting chapter. You will be called to give into the unknown and trust the natural transitions. Don’t be afraid to say goodbye to things or people that have been dragging you down.

Listen

The most important part of a full moon in Pisces is to listen. Your capacity to connect to Spirit and the Divine will be running high this full moon so listen to what is coming through during moments of solitude and meditation. Set aside time to embrace the messages that are trying to come in as we head into what has the potential to be a very successful fall. This really is your time, you just need to believe it.

July's New/Full Moon and Solar Eclipse Meaning Blog Image

Moon Cycle: From July 12th – August 10th

Blood Moon/Full Moon: July 27th

Keywords: Transformation, Change, New Beginnings, Rebirth, Strengthening Our Foundations

This week, on July 12th, we welcome a new moon that will lead us to a Full Blood Moon on July 27th. If you’re feeling transitional, emotional and a bit unsteady, trust that this is completely aligned with the Cancer season. The date of this new moon also marks the start of a powerful solar eclipse, the first of three which will happen this summer; the second will happen on the Full Blood Moon on July 27th and the following on August 11th.

This series of solar eclipses will no doubt have a powerful effect on our sense of stability. Do not expect things to remain the same. In fact, these solar eclipses could prove to bring life-changing and unexpected circumstances leading all the way through to 2020.

We love the fact that the solar eclipses of this month align with the new and full moons. As the moon blocks our view of the sun and the world is in proverbial darkness, we are invited to come out of each eclipse with a sense of rebirth, leveraging the energies for new beginnings. Working with an understanding of the planets and their shifts helps us leverage their powerful energies with focused intention, rather than letting them rule us without a sense of purpose.

Remember in this powerful time of transition that we will likely be presented with feelings of hesitation, perhaps even fear. We cannot see through the darkness and we cannot know the ultimate outcome of what is about to happen.

This is when the practice of trust will truly come into play. You may feel a strong need in your personal life to hand your trust over to the universe on the dates of July 23rd to July 26, during the Gibbous Moon phase. Expect your questions about your personal direction to be amplified during that time. The universe may throw you some curves or challenges during this moon cycle where trust will be needed.

Leverage That Cancer Energy

Remember; this new moon is occurring in Cancer, a potent and emotionally charged period, affecting our senses of security, support, our connection to our roots or heritage, our family and of course our inner sense of self (who we are, what are we doing, our feelings, our responses, etc.).

This is a time to nourish our foundations and everything that we feel a connection to as our home. Not to be confused with strictly our personal houses or dwellings, this can include anything that is in our daily vortex; people, our workplaces, our routine and of course the “home” within, our inner foundations and strengths.

Ensure to dedicate time in July to honour your inner being, your true sense of comfort and security and every single feeling. Acknowledge, confront and release. Take comfort in your sources of security; your family and your true close friends.

Expect to be called to a new beginning of sorts, one that may require you to leave behind something valued and treasured. While this will be difficult, remember new beginnings can be an exciting blessing, it’s a matter of what we learn and how we choose to leverage things going forward.

The Importance of Ritual: Summer Solstice and Cancer Season Blog Image

John Gibbons

For those who are very in tune with the planets and find themselves to be affected by natural and universal shifts, you may find yourself stepping into this Summer Solstice with an unexpected lump of emotion in your throat. Not only are we at a halfway point of the year, a time when we are meant to take stock of the past six months of our work, accomplishments, losses and spiritual growth, we are also at a critical period when we should be looking forward to the six months ahead, visualizing our next steps, setting our intentions, all while letting go of that which no longer serves us.

It’s a lot of pressure.

To top it off, this Summer Solstice happens on the exact same day when the sun moves into Cancer, which can characteristically be an emotional time. In addition to being the most emotional of all astrological signs, Cancer is also ruled by the moon, the ruler of all our feelings. So we have a trifecta of emotional turbulence running currents through our small human bodies.

So while we encourage acknowledging and honouring our tendency towards ups and downs, passionate outbursts, powerful tides of love and sincere vulnerability to heartbreak and disappointment, we do not view Cancer season as a time of weakness. To the contrary, the season of Cancer gives us the opportunity to demonstrate our hardshell strengths in the face of adversity, while embracing the opportunity to balance our masculine sun energy through the Summer Solstice with our feminine ties to the moon.

So How Do I Do That?

Ritual. Ritual is everything when we are working with our universal connections. Rituals do not need to be anything extensive, that you’re not familiar with, they can be subdued, mindful moments of acknowledgment and self-love.

Here’s a couple ways to implement ritual this Summer Solstice:

Honour Your Work

Take 5 to 10 minutes and write down what you have accomplished over the past six months. Read your list as many times as you need to over the next few days to let acknowledgement of your accomplishments resonate within your soul. Further to that, write down what you want to let go, what hasn’t worked out and give yourself acknowledgement for trying. And then, tell yourself that everything that didn’t work out, or that no longer serves you is something you will not be taking into the next 6 months of the year with you. Let. It. Go.

Smudge Your Space

Start the next six months off with a clean energy slate. Smudge your workspace, closets, and home with sage or palo santo. Clear old energy and make room for new positive frequencies.

Use Citrine

Said to embrace the energy of the sun, Citrine is one of the most powerful stones to use for stimulating passion, strength and the power of manifestation. Citrine is connected your Sacral and Solar Plexus chakras where our feelings of personal power, will and determination are found, as well as our capacity for abundance and joy.

Keep Citrine close to you over the next few days. Hold it in your hand while you meditate or visualize the next six months to come.

Self-Care with Meditation

This is a beautiful ritual that ideally we would make time for everyday. Take an hour to your self  and do something that is only and completely for you. Whether it’s yoga, a bike ride, a run, a salt scrub, drink a warm calming wellness tea afterwards. Then settle into a meditative state for about 10 minutes or more if you can. Clear your mind in preparation for what is right around the corner, while practicing tools to help deal with any Cancer-induced emotional tides.
