Goat on mountain with full moon in background

This season is all about doing what feels right to you and the Capricorn intelligence is backing you up every step. You’ve come a long way and acknowledging that is only the first step of an important journey. With the Winter Solstice, Wolf Moon, intuitive thinking, and more. This season (which lasts until Jan. 19th) is going to give you the energy you’ve been needing for that extra step up in your life.

The GOAT

Capricorn’s stick to themselves and then behind them is a world of knowledge. To put it simply, they are super wise and determined. As an analytical sign, their knowledge is always proven by facts, whether it’s been read in a book, documentary, art you name it, they know it or will be interesting in learning about it. They’re quiet but loud when they’re in their element. As an earth sign, they’re grounded, but as their own Capricorn selves, they can be choosey of who they hang with, so their inner circle is super important to them. Represented by the goat, it’s clear that they have a good leadership role. Think of those real-life GOATS (Greatest of All Time) in your life, chances are they’re a Capricorn.

Only Stretch for Workouts

If you’re feeling comfortable express yourself. If you want to chill then just observe from the side and enjoy whatever thoughts come up while people watch. You can either stress over a situation or choose to embrace the ride that’s ahead. Which will be a big theme this season. You’ll be feeling motivated to get things done and which will contribute to feeling content after. But don’t get too ahead of yourself. Make plans or do things that are within your limits. It’s not the time (it never is actually the time) to stretch yourself because you think it’s needed. Find a way to balance everything so you don’t end up feeling frustrated and overwhelmed.

Winter Has Arrived

On December 21st we’re welcoming the Winter Solstice also the shortest day of the year. What does this mean in terms of things coming up for the past, present, and future? Think of it as a rebirth. We’ve been carrying a lot on our shoulders so it’s time to take things into the New Year with a little less weight than we have been. Take the Winter Solstice prep for the upcoming year and sit with your thoughts, enjoy the outdoors, and unleash your creative side. The first full moon of 2022 will be on January 17th and is known as the Wolf Moon. The full moon will be in Cancer, so the strength from the wolf will be able to help keep the high emotions of the water sign calm. Stick with your pack going into 2022, you know who the real ones are.

Quick Facts:

The money tree, Guiana Chestnut, is one of the most prosperous plants in the kingdom. It can be found in swampy conditions and they love the humidity. Their home bases of Central and South Africa are what give them a love for the heat. It has a braided stem that leaves you mesmerized with bold green leaves. While it improves your air quality, they also attract good vibes towards you.

Spirituality and Symbolism

The money tree represents good luck and fortunes to whoever has it. It also brings positive energy that’s why it’s good for stress, anxiety and sleep. When it’s being given as a gift, those vibes are even higher and both people involved will benefit. Depending on the person, each unique trait of the plant can mean something different. Whether it be the number of leaves on steam or the height, it’s a token.

Full Moon: September 20th – 21st

Keywords: organize, work, collaborate, trust, commitment, recuperate, take breaks

It’s time to take a break from the heat and chill out. Virgo season is all about getting tasks done and as summer comes to it’s time to get our grinds on, productively. We’ve taken the time to have fun in Leo season so now it’s time to take the confidence we’ve been carrying with us to Virgo season. This next month is filled with ambition, opportunity and success personally and professionally. From August 23rd to September 22nd, get ready to put in the work while living your best life.

Ambition Here We Come

Ruled by Mercury which is all about communication, this earth sign is super focused and ready to complete the task at hand with little distractions. This analytical sign has a big brain and heart which gives them a powerful stance when it comes to putting their all into projects, passions and people. With loyalty running deep it can be easy to depend on Virgo’s if you have their trust and love. By being willing to go above and beyond for the people they’re the closest to, they need to be weary to bend and not break. They’re very reliable and can count on them to follow through with their word and commitment. Represented by the Virgin who recognizes the angel and devils we both carry on our shoulders and which direction to go with. Virgo’s including Pink, Mother Theresa, Prince Harry, Beyoncé, Keanu Reeves are all prime examples of individuals who have worked their way to be known by standing by what they believe in and working hard to get there.

Work-Life Balance

This next month is all about getting down to business. If you find yourself having racing thoughts, take a minute to stop and reflect on what your chaotic thoughts are about. Just because we’re staying focused, doesn’t mean we don’t have time for some fun. This could be a perfect opportunity to collaborate with someone(s) to expand on your own ideas and stay chatty while working. While we can get wrapped up in trying to get things done as fast as possible and squeeze in as many items into our day that we possibly can, it’s crucial to give yourself breaks. Let this be a good goal-setting time for the next few work months on how you can get your work done without sacrificing your mental and physical health, plans and more to get it done. Maybe this means altering your routine to create some extra me-time or scheduling designated break times and actually not thinking about work from your work. Putting all of these into practice will bring you to getting more work done and with a more upbeat attitude about the work ahead. I think we can tell why school was meant to start in September.

New Moon, Harvest Moon & Fall Equinox

A new moon in Virgo will appear Septmber 6th to welcome intention setting and give as half-way check-in point for this season. On September 20th we’ll witness the Harvest Moon known for its yellow appearance and as a sign to finish any tasks before things start to get a little chillier. September 22nd starts the autumnal equinox, also the first day of fall. This marks the sun rising and setting later, beautiful crisp leaves and cooler afternoons. Take time to make personal goals as well as the professional ones we mentioned. It can be super easy to get wrapped up in the hustle of to-do lists that we forgot to do ourselves. It’s also not time to be a perfectionist either. Making a goal to the journal is productive as we’re already in the groove of getting things done and it’s personal writing without needing an approval or higher-up edit. Throw on the old classic Harvest Moon by Neil Young and soak up the rest of warm nights.

Typically associated with luck and opportunity, the power of jade actually runs a little deeper due to its strong connectivity to our heart chakra. Jade’s ability to open our hearts and clear our energies of negative mentalities such as “I can’t” or “what’s the point” can result in the motivation we may be lacking to source our purpose and attain our dreams.

Jade is an excellent stone for when you are suffering a bout of low energy, depression and lack of insight into your next move or your overall purpose. It has been recognized as the perfect crystal to boost one out of an existential crisis, thereby proving it’s not so much a lucky charm, so much as it is one that can open our minds and hearts to achieve and manifest what was already within our path to attain.

If you are in search for inner truth or a general jumpstart, use jade in your meditation for clarity and guidance. Nourish your inner being by placing jade close to your heart centre to amplify its effects.

Jade’s green colour is reflective of vegetation, growth and life so is viewed as a symbol of vitality and longevity. As such it is often seen in anti-aging practices such as the popular jade roller for facial massage.

The jade crystal is a wonderful stone for re-igniting your inner fire, opening your heart to love and the possibility for beautiful abundance.

Below are some beautiful ways to incorporate jade into your life:

Full Moon: March 20th-23rd

Key Words: Prosperity, Joy, Balance, Self-Love, Self-Value, Self-Respect, New Energy Flow, Shift, Equinox, Spring

The March full moon in Libra marks the third and final Super Moon of 2019. Each full moon of this new year has been a Super Moon, meaning that the full moon has coincided with the moon’s closest proximity to the Earth during its orbit. This closer proximity renders the moon’s appearance larger in the sky and the effects of its energy to be more strongly felt here on earth. It is a beautiful time for gathering and manifesting your dreams.

Spring Equinox and New Beginnings

What’s even more beautiful about this full moon is that it happens during the Spring Equinox on March 20th-21st. The Spring Equinox is marked by the sun moving into the constellation Aries, whereby we on earth experience equal hours of day and light. The Spring Equinox represents the beginning of the astrological year, with Aries being the first sign in the zodiac, so we are called to embrace new beginnings.

While many of us mark our successes and progress from year to year, instances such as the March Super Moon gift us with an opportunity to assess where we are in to date in 2019 and edit accordingly. If you don’t like the direction something has been going, now is an amazing time to change it as required. The change in seasons causes natural shifts in our internal energy flow and in our relationship to our environment and others. It is important to sit with ourselves so we can learn which direction our energy is naturally inclined to. This Super Moon reminds us it’s perfectly alright to cut something or someone out of your life that once served you but no longer adds value. Life is short, so make sure everything you can control in your experience is of complete value to you, or get rid it. Or in other words, “Mary Kondo” your life! If it doesn’t spark joy, eliminate it.

Balance and Prosperity

In the same vein, a Full Moon in Libra will shine a light on where we need to find balance in our lives. We will see with greater clarity the things in life that drain us and the things that inspire us. Listen closely to what your inner guidance system is telling you, as this full moon Super Moon aligns us with a potent energy flow that has the capacity to unleash amazing potential and new beginnings. Unlike other full moons in which we are invited to move forward in action towards our hopes and dreams, the March full moon in Libra actually calls us to turn our focus inwards. The action we are encouraged to take this full moon is embedded in tuning into our inner energy flow and igniting what sparks joy (there it is again!).

When we ignite the fires that inspire us, prosperity and abundance ensue. When we eliminate what drains us, we are rewarded in new and fulfilling ways. For example, if your work pays well but leaves you feeling empty, tired and unhappy, what good is the money and where do you spend it? Work and money is an energy exchange. You will have greater respect for the money you earn when it comes from joyous pursuits.

You Are Precious

This full moon will open a new portal of higher consciousness that we can tune into if we make the time and clear the noise. Access this portal of self-discovery and set intentions to put yourself first this spring. With this Super Moon, we are invited to step into a new energy flow, and to activate stronger feelings of self-value and self-love. Your life has strong value, but it is very short. Let this Full Moon remind you of life’s preciousness, and respect your time on Earth by devoting it to your personal pursuit of joy.

Full Moon: February 19th-21st

Key Words: Freedom, Excitement, Romance, Opportunity, Sex, Liberation, Potential

January and February may have felt as though you were put through the ringer, but fret not dear moon-gazer for your luck is about to change. Or at least your perspective is.

If you are noticing an uplift in emotion and a pep in your step that has been lacking the past couple weeks, you are likely tuning in emotionally to February’s full moon strong pull. This is a full moon abundant with an air of excitement and adventure, as well as courage and confidence. The goals and dreams you have been working towards in the past months may start to show signs that they are all attainable, possible and well within your reach with the bright light from our glorious moon. Now is a time to LEAN IN to those energies with complete gusto. The fogginess of the mind and convoluted clouds of low confidence are starting to part. You will feel shocks of electricity that startle you from this heavy winter slumber. Spring is around the corner and that is exciting.

Tensions in relationships may start to ease so take the time to nourish them with love and attention. If you have been facing a sexual wall, this full moon is a great time to set your mind to opening up, so to speak, nurturing both yourself and your partner with physical connection. If you have been struggling with relationship connections amongst friends or at work, this is also a great time to make amends.

And while we may be feeling excited, relieved, confident and happy, planetary alignment this full moon suggests that there will be some instances of falsity and power, ambition and people who may not have your best interests in mind. Simply keep that in the back of your mind as you move full speed ahead this full moon, fuelled by positivity and alignment. Don’t let false riches distract you. Stay pure.

Go back to the goals you set during the opportunistic new moon of February 4th. Assess how you felt when you set those intentions and how you are feeling now. Dive into the possibilities and liberate yourself from everything that has been holding you back. Now is the time to make your dreams come true.

Super Wolf Blood Moon: January 20th

Key Words: Change, Opportunity, Attention, Creativity, Unexpected Events, Confidence, Frustration, Drama

Change is on the horizon. You may have been feeling slight shifts lately as we softly eased into the new year. Things that appeared a bit murky in December are slowly starting to become clear, even if you don’t really want to acknowledge the truth. This Super Wolf Blood Moon may throw us a few curve balls, but could also bless us with opportunity.

This Sunday evening, around 10:36 EST, the Earth will be positioned between the sun and the moon, causing a “blood red” shadow across the moon’s surface, hence the phrase “blood moon”. The January full moon is called the Wolf moon because in traditional and earlier times, this is the month when the wolves howled from winter hunger, particularly during the full moon. So again, the term sounds much more sinister than it really is.

Move Slowly, Softly

That said, we would do well to proceed with caution, and brace ourselves for unexpected change and resulting feelings of fear and anxiety. There will be shifts in power at play and you may notice them in your work or personal life. Observe closely the relationship dynamics in your life right now and how others around you are unknowingly being affected by this astronomical event. Do you see higher instances of tension, displays of anger, flashes of temper and frustration? Are people overstepping their mark with you, through an unwarranted sense of power and position?

You may find that you are quick to temper yourself, or find that your typically grounded mind is getting caught up in anxiety-driven thoughts. This is not a full moon to broach relationship or work issues. Focus on getting yourself grounded in the present moment and peacefully observe how you can leverage the moon’s powerful energies to your advantage.

Creativity and Opportunity

This eclipse brings with it energies of opportunity. 2018 was a year of inner ground work for profound change, essentially setting the stage for your debut. The time has come for you to step out of the shadows and fully embrace this new expression of who you are and who you want to be. We will be gifted bursts of creativity, energy and focus with this powerful celestial happening and those of us who are wise will use it to our advantage. Listen to your inner being as it will be forthcoming with information on what you truly want, as well as provide insightful guidance on creative ways to go and get it. Don’t shy away from recognition and spotlight over the next few days. Lean into the shifts and changes happening around you and embrace opportunities as they come your way. It’s time to satiate the hungry wolf inside you and get what you want and what you deserve.

Keep Cool

This shouldn’t be hard as temperatures continue to plummet. Remember we may encounter anxiety-driven situations such as technology that refuses to cooperate, or work/personal relationship upheavals. Knowing that we may be prone to hot tempers gives us the power of mindfulness when we structure our reactions. Face challenges with a level head. Things are never as bad as they seem. And nothing is bad enough to defeat you and your beautiful spirit. Set intentions of joy and you’ll come through this Super Wolf Blood Moon with money in the bank.

The final leaves are swirling past us to the ground and we begin our retreat into the darkest time of the year. Many of us find deep peace and inner connectivity outdoors, embraced in the arms of nature. In preparation for the next few months, when the majority of our time will be spent indoors,  it is a wonderful time to create a sacred space within our homes, one that can bring us to a state of calm and sanctitude. In shorter terms, it’s time to make a home altar!

What Is An Altar?

Altars have been used for thousands of years in religious ceremonies and are typically associated with offerings to the gods, and have commonly been used in sacrifice. A home altar is a place that offers a personal sense of the sacred. Whether you are a practicing Catholic, Muslim, Buddhist, or a connector with the universe and Spirit, human beings often require a visual reminder of what we hold high in priorities. An alter acts as a sacred place in our homes that draws us back to our sacred beliefs, priorities, personal serenity and sense of being.

Why Make An Altar?

An altar is a physical representation of your core beliefs and values. It is a place that you can honour yourself, your life, your Spirit and your ideals. It is a beautifully creative way to express the inner composition of your peace, your connection, your inspiration and your love. A home altar will create a sense of peace within your home, and will ground you back to your core values in times of need. It is a wonderful place to ponder on, to find quiet, and to meditate. You will find in time that being in presence of your altar’s space will elevate your mood, vibration and energy.

How To Make An Altar

The Space

Select a prominent space in your home, one that you see regularly. An altar is not meant to be hidden, but a daily way to connect to your inner being. With the proper intention, your altar will serve you every time you look at it, extending energy and love and mindful reminders.

Typically, altar surfaces are flat, such as a bookshelf, tray or small table. Once you have selected a space in your home for your altar, cleanse it with sage to clear any old or stagnant energies. Cleanse your altar’s space as often as you feel necessary.

Sacred Items

You are the only person who can determine what is sacred to you. What connects you to yourself? What do you value? The sacred items on your altar can be reminders of what you strive to embody, how you want to live your life, and what fuels your personal life purpose. These items can be pictures, books, crystals, Mala beads, a gift from a friend or family member, small reminders and knick knacks, statues or pictures of deities, oracle cards. Anything that brings you a sense of love and peace, or anything that offers positive energy is great for your altar.

Recommendations: Nature and the Senses

If you feel a call to honour nature on your altar, find items that speak to the 5 elements, such as a candle for fire, air and space, or live plants and flowers for earth and water. It is also excellent to feed your senses with your altar. Examples include a small meditation bowl will honour your ears, a shawl or cushion used while you are in front of your altar will honour your sense of touch, and essential oils or incense will speak to your nose.

Your altar is a space to find yourself, to draw inspiration and to connect with your inner being. The more you feed it with your presence and love, the more it will serve you. It is your space to do what it calls you to; praying, meditating, journaling, singing or simply being. Namaste.

Celebrating Our Deaths - The Spiritual Meaning of Halloween Blog Image

Image @digital_errors

As with many traditions and celebrations that appear in our modern age, Halloween holds strong roots to pagan rituals. While the term pagan can make people a bit uncomfortable, it simply refers to cultures and groups of people whose religious beliefs were/are strongly rooted in nature.

Back in the day, Halloween was referred to as Samhain, a word that meant “summer’s end”. For the pagans, October 31st was a day that marked the transition into a long, dark winter. This was a time that required an investment of faith with many questions up in the air regarding survival; will we survive through winter? do we have enough provisions? if a sickness runs through the clan, have we stocked enough healing herbs for cures?

And while faith needed to be strong, ritual was there to assist. On October 31st, pagans lit large bonfires to symbolically stave of the darkness and honour a new year, while curing their harvested meats for the winter. They also left out offerings for spirits and faeries, like the best meats and finest herbs. With October 31st being the darkest day of the year, it meant that spirits have more time on earth and pagans paid tribute accordingly.

The Underworld Veil

Pagans honoured the crucial moment when October 31st became November 1st (or 1/11), as this is when it it was believed spiritual activity was at its highest. The vibration around the number 111 offers up symbolism surrounding the thin veil between the underworld and the living world. The number 1 in the middle is representative of being stuck between those two worlds. The veil between the living and dead is also thinnest as the sun moves into the sign of Scorpio, where intuition and connection to both the underworld and our shadow selves runs deep. This thin veil is also why we put out carved pumpkins and dress up, in order to confuse and keep away negative spirits that may be out and about.

As the veil thins between the two worlds at this time, spirits and humans alike have easier access to travel to different dimensions, offering a wonderful opportunity for us to connect deep with our shadow selves and find what may be holding us back. This accessible time to spiritual revelation can help open our eyes, letting us know what we need to let die, in order to move forward,  beautifully and with power.

Celebrating Our Deaths

The alignment with Scorpio season is no coincidence. The energy of the Scorpio is all about celebrating transformation and honouring cycles. Death and rebirth are prominent themes during this time, bringing us to reflect that our lives, like nature, undergo deaths and rebirths frequently.

From a spiritual perspective, we can leverage the opening of this portal between the underworld and the living, and invite connection to our deeper shadow selves, as well as celebrate the deaths we experienced this past year. What old patterns did you let die? What new creations are you ready to birth? Halloween is a time to honour your past self, your past relationships, mindsets and habits and allow them to die. Halloween is a time to let go.

This is when we allow our energy to shift into a new cycle, in tune with nature and with the spirit realm. It is a powerful time to embrace change and move forward into a new journey, a new self.

Happy Halloween!

Full Moon: October 24th – 26th aka The Hunter’s Moon

Key Words: Evolution, Change, Inner Strength, Self-Worth, Excitement, Personal Power

October’s moon cycle started with the new moon in Libra, with a spotlight on our partnerships and relationships. We moved into this cycle with a period of detoxification, purifying our lives subconsciously through interactions with others. People, situations and objects that no longer serve us are finding a way to remove themselves from our life experience. For example, you may have ended a working relationship or removed yourself from a toxic situation. Or you could have faced and overcome a difficult challenge, stepping into a new understanding of who you are and what you can do. Setting the stage for what’s next…..

It’s Time for a Change

The full moon in Taurus is an exciting time, bringing with it a level of uncertainty. For our ancestors, the October full moon was the Hunter’s Moon. With the Harvest Moon behind us, this is a time when we hunt and gather for the long winter ahead. From an emotional standpoint, you may be feeling anxious while ready to confront challenges ahead. This is prime game time. The stage is set for us to step into our personal power and make claim to what is fully ours. The question is, will you answer the call?

Taurus is an earthly, sensical, stubborn and thick-skinned sign. Channel that bull-like energy to propel you forward into the unknown and stake a claim on what is rightfully yours this full moon. The promotion, the client, the relationship you have been nervous to take to the next level. You deserve fulfillment in all aspects of life. This full moon will highlight what we feel is missing in areas of finance, relationships and material possessions.

If we can leverage this Full Moon energy through concerted action towards our intentions, we will see powerful manifestations unfold.

There Will Be Surprises

Expect the unexpected. The moon is conjunct Uranus during this full moon, meaning this will be a period of change and uncertainty. The ride will be bumpy, challenging and incredibly exciting. Change is on the horizon and we are called to accept each and every new curve. Not all surprises are bad, although we may feel like it at the time. We will face situations that invite our true selves to rise to the occasion. Will you cower or will you stand strong in your new power like a bull? Leverage the strength and stubborn qualities of the Taurus. Stake unmistakable claim on what is yours. You have been calling this in for a while and now is the time to evolve into the next level of being.

Relationships

Both the Moon and Uranus are opposite Venus at the moment, signalling change in love. Avoid unnecessary tensions and dramas in relationships at the moment, including temptations and experimentations that could lead you astray from your true love. Channel the extra electricity running through your blood into positive sexual experiences, passionate flirtations and beautiful exchanges of body. This is the perfect time to give and receive with a partner, embrace love, sex and pleasure in positive ways that leave you feeling divine.

In Short
Now’s the time, you powerful being. Step into your hunter’s garb and stake claim on who you are and what you are here for; love, pleasure, success and happiness. Stock your shelves for the winter ahead and prepare yourself for the unexpected. A true hunter appreciates the game and can leverage surprises to winning advantage.
